Strong but easy to maneuver. This model has six different carpet adjustments. Brilliant headlight, 50-feet power cord, weighs 20-pound. Wide bumper protects furniture and baseboards.
I bought this vaccum after developing allergies for the first time. My parents have had an elextrolux for the past 25 years and it has always worked great. Although Eureka is now making these electrolux vaccums I expect that in order to preserve the integrity of the name they will make every effort to make sure this product line is up to standard, and I think they have succeded in this regard. Contrary to the other reviews I took my vaccum home and was able to connect all of the pieces by myself without any problems. The bags are small, but so is the vaccum. If you want bigger bags chose an upright, but beware, the hepa filtration on those units is not as good. The filter and bags are easy to acess. The power head is very sturdy but has a little trouble standing on its own- it can do it, but will fall down with the slightest breeze. The vaccum is very quiet. To test the suction I first vaccumed with my old vaccum and then revaccumed with this one. I was very impressed. I could hear every piece of sand and crumb climbing up the hose- and there was a lot!!! It even has a light so you can vaccum in the dark, or in a dark corner. The head seems to move itself effortlessly across the room.If you are considering this machine, don't be afraid of the other reviews. I did not experience their woes.

12 AMP bagless canister with HEPA filtration. True cyclonic separation and easy-empty dust cup. Powerful Suction
I like canister vacs because they are so versatile. The only drawback is they take up a litle more storage room. When you have mixed floor surfaces they are the answer. This vac works great and seems quite sturdy. Definitely like not having to change bags and the extra expense.

1400 watt motor provides the versatility to clean floors and carpets HEPA filter captures ultra-fine particles for cleaner indoor air Unique carrying strap makes going about the cleaning task a breeze Telescopic steel wands allow for comfortable cleaning heights and extended reach Deluxe Floor tool and horsehair bare floor brush are designed to clean all floor surfaces Two Year Warranty
I agree with other reviewers that the 20' cord is short, but I just use another plug. The expandable wand slips off, unless you secure it tightly. But, the vacuum is absolutely what we needed for our hardwood floors. My wife is hard to please and she loves it because of the manuverability. She said that whoever designed this vacuum knew about housecleaning.

The Electrolux Oxy3 ULTRA produces the optimal clean for traditional floors. The Beta powerhead option is designed for more power on traditional carpeted floors. However, it also produces great cleaning on hardwood and laminate floors. You get feedback from the Optimal light which lets you know your Oxy3 Canister is operating at peak performance. Comes with bag and filter change indicators for no-worry cleaning. The Oxy3 captures 99.97% of all the dust, allergens, and small particles it picks up so your house stays cleaner, longer. With all controls and tools in the handle, you never have to search for the right button. And simply press down the vacuum handle to instantly rewind your cord.
Bought this Electolux model after going through two Sears Progressive units in three years (even though they were highly rated by Consumer Reports) Their quality and durability was horrible.
This new Electolux is a very nice machine. Only negatives I would identify is that the power carpet sweeper is noiser than most. Also the size of the dust collector bag is quite small & will require more frequent changing.
However unit works great; controls are handy and easy to use. Unit is light and compact, easy to use and attractive. If the carpet power sweeper was quieter, I would give it five stars. You won't go wrong buying this unit.

I could not decide between the Polaris and the Neptune...the main difference is that the Neptune comes with a turbo brush and the parquet twister. I just received it today & have been anticipating it's arrival since I ordered it on Saturday...I am crazy in love. I have never owned a vacuum that has setting controls...I cleaned the velvet drapes in room on the lowest setting, works like a charm. I vacuumed all the window sills, door & window moldings, 1731 sq ft of wood floor, bathroom tile & vacuumed the stucco walls in the kitchen. Oh by the way the maids were just here yesterday...I did not care. The house looked perfect but now I know it's perfect. I vacuumed while my daughter was napping...I could have never done that w/the upright Kenmore I'm retiring. I'm so happy with this purchase. I will update this review in 6 months (writing reminder in my Franklin). Yes, yes love is in the air. XXOXOO 2.19.2010 Six months is around the corner. I am still in love. Can I just tell you that my cleaning habits have changed...I once vacuumed once a week maybe twice, since I received my Miele I vacuum every other day (it's crazy I know)I'm so addicted to the clean feeling plus I want to share this scent secret with you...when I change the vacuum bag I put 14-18 drops of my favorite essential oil on cotton ball vacuum it up & every time I vacuum that scent is distributed thru the whole house. My favorite scent right now is Lemongrass by Aura Cacia...so natural. I don't know…

I had read reviews of vacuums for several months as I tried to decide which one I should get next. I had a great Rikkar vacuum that had lasted about 5 years and I wanted to be sure that my next vacuum could also handle the mess of my two dogs and two cats. I ordered this vacuum reconditioned and I was a bit skeptical, but figured I could always send it back if I did not like it. It arrived in perfect condition and was not at all what I expected from "reconditioned." It took only seconds to hook up any attachments and I was thrilled to see how much dog hair it had vacuumed from my area rugs. The power button, carpet attachment power and suction level options are all located near the handle. This really is a great feature that I have not had before. This vacuum also seems to run much quieter than alot of others. The handle on the canister also makes it very easy to carry it up and down stair and it also easily fits into a small closet for storage. So far this vacuum seems to be very good quality and very user friendly.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)My wife and I have owned (still own some of them) several high end vacuums. We started with an extremely heavy and expensive Kirby, which is a good machine but just cumbersome to operate. We later switched to Dyson and have been very happy with their products. We have considered Electrolux vacuums before, but it seems like people either love them or hate them, so we were a little cautious about spending a lot of money for something we couldn't be sure of. When I was offered the opportunity to test and review the new Electrolux Nimble upright vacuum, I was excited to finally get the chance to try one of their products risk free. Now that we have been using this vacuum for a few weeks, I think I am ready to share my opinions thus far. The Nimble comes packaged very well. The instructions are mostly picture based, but very easy to understand. The only area of confusion involved installing the clips that the cord wraps around and that hold the small attachments. It took me a few minutes to figure out which one went on the left and which went on the right of the machine. Those clips snap on really hard, so don't be afraid to put a little muscle into it. Altogether it took less than 15 minutes, from opening the box to actually using the vacuum. There really isn't much installation involved, so just about anyone should be able to breeze through the assembly process without difficulty. This vacuum is a little heavier than…

This retro style Perfect canister is the same old style you grew up with. The all metal housings are made for years and years of use and abuse. The motor on this vacuum pulls an amazing 125" of water lift, giving it the same suction as many central vacuum units. There are not many vacuums on the market today, with the suction power of the Perfect canister. The wide 15" power nozzle will eat pet hair for breakfast! It also comes with an electronic circuit breaker, that will prevent many belts from breaking. If something is vacuumed up in to the power head such as tassles on oriental rugs, or shoe laces, or even a sock under neath the bed, the power head will automatically turn off, to prevent the belt from breaking. Accessories included are; * Complete set of tools with on-board storage:* Soft horse hair combination dusting/upholstery tool.* Air-driven stair tool.* 14-inch crevice tool.* 12-inch wide soft horse hair bare floor tool. This machine also now comes with the new HEPA…
I found this item on EBAY and the advertisement is exactly as it is on their website; designed to mislead people into thinking that the Electrolux company has resurrected the old Marquis and Olympia metal tank machines. Do not buy this machine! It is NOT made in the USA it is made in CHINA. Pure garbage and a waste of money. Better off with a used electrolux or a dirt devil for 20 bucks at Target!

Includes Oxygen Canister Vacuum - EL6988D-R, Tools Included: Electric hose (direct connect), deluxe power head, integrated wands, bare floor brush, crevice tool, upholstery tool, dusting brush, (1) Canister Bag - EL200, (1) HEPA H12 Filter - EL012W
We had two mid-range Kenmore canister vacs prior to this. The Electrolux Oxygen (EL6988E) is many ways better and many ways worse. Check out the list for what matters most to you. Prices bounce around. Low tide for this model is about 325 delivered. Better: * Quieter (significantly) - Power head pivots in both directions and has larger wheels. Easier to maneuver. - Wand length adjusts (34" to 47") - 2-year warranty (vs 1-year for Kenmore) - LED headlights & height indicator - Bag-full indicator light (Kenmore's is less visible) Toss-up: - Suction is quite good - 3rd party bags: 36 Oxygen Vacuum Bags are available at 50% savings (as with Kenmore) - Auto shut-off when motor overheats or power head stalls - Weight: 22.8 lbs (16.9 without power head). Kenmore is 21.5 lbs (16.3) - Floor Brush: Electrolux is 60 % wider (13.7" vs 8.5") (but suction is less concentrated) - Both Kenmores died after 5.5 years. Will Electrolux last longer? Worse: * Cord is only 20.3 ft long (Kenmore is 30% longer. 26.5 ft. Very handy.) * Dust bag is 40% smaller (appx 180 vs 300 cu. in.) (More expense, more hassle) * Hose is flimsy (Big difference vs Kenmore) (and replacement is $47) * Lacks swivel hose mount on base unit. (Hose kinks and will eventually crack) * Power switch is on the base, not the handle. (and is easily confused with the cord-retract button) * Floor brush can't be stored on-board (Small nozzle & furniture brush store on the wand handle) * Generic nozzles won't…

I ordered this vacuum and it came in yesterday. I tried to use it and it would no turn on. When it finally turned on it would barely vacuum dust. After I turned it off it would not turn on again. I called Beach Camera where Amazon ordered it and they gave me a number to call for Electrolux. I called that number and they gave me another number I called that number and they could not help. I finally got the right number but their trouble shooting department could not help me. It is a bad switch. So now they are telling me I have to take it 50 miles away to get it repaired. I just want to send it back and get my money back. No such luck. Do Not Buy This Item.

LG’s new LcV900B KOMPRESSOR Canister PetCare Plus Vacuum Cleaner packs many of the innovative features LG has become known for into a low-profile canister model. The KOMPRESSOR technology allows you to pick up 3 times more dirt, dust and pet hair before emptying it. The unique DualForce suction lets you clean a wider area and get to hard-to-reach edges, while the retractable cord makes it easy to get where you need to go.
After 3 weeks of research and trips to Best Buy, we decided to go for the LG Kompressor. It was the best decision we made. My wife can not stop vacuuming. The vacuum is easy to handle, makes very little noise, the kids can watch tv and play while she is vacuuming, no more running outside the house when the noisy vacuum comes :)
The compressor part of the dust bin works great. It compresses all the dirt together, so you do not have particles of dirt flying around in the dust bin. It is very easy to clean and no bags needed. The vacuum has great suction, both on tile and rugs. We have a big house of 2800 sq feet, We've been using it for 2 weeks now, every other day we vacuum and it is great!!!!

The Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright removes more dirt in one pass than other uprights. The lightweight design (less than 12 lbs) is easy to maneuver and transport upstairs or from room to room. With direct air flow technology and Hoover's patented Windtunnel Technology, it makes it easy to remove even hidden dirt. The HEPA filter bag traps 99.97% of dirt, dust, and pollens for better indoor air quality. There is even a bag check indicator to tell you when to change the bag. The quick release, self-sealing bag prevents dirt puffs from escaping while changing the bag. It comes with illuminated in-handle controls which allow you to control the on/off power switch and the ability to switch between high and low speeds with the touch of a finger. The upright comes with a portable canister and tools. The canister has a detachable shoulder strap, dusting/furniture brush, crevice tool, and bare floor brush. Best-In-Class five-year warranty.
I purchased this vacuum and initially loved it! However, the honeymoon was over after 10 months of use. The vacuum would turn off whenever the handle was at an angle (so if you pushed forward, it turned off). I brought it to the authorized repair service and haven't seen it since -- and it's been over two months. The repair service isn't the problem. They say Hoover uses a complicated electronic board system that is made in China. The boards are not made available to the repair shops until a faulty vacuum is brought in. Up to three different boards could be faulty but Hoover insists on following a one by one repair procedure. The parts come from China and take up to 6 weeks to arrive. My vacuum is waiting for its second board to arrive (the first one didn't solve the problem). BTW, I emailed Hoover after 6 weeks asking for a replacement vacuum since mine was still under warranty. Guess what?! No response. The repair shop warned me it would be a waste of time. They don't recommend Hoovers any longer. So, if you have a Hoover Platinum and it holds up - you're happy. If not, you've been suckered into a Hoover-made disaster. Quick update: my Hoover Platinum has now been in the repair shop for 3 months. What a worthless warranty.... Update #2: My vacuum went in the repaire shop 7-28-2010 and remains there today, 12-6-2010. I've contacted Hoover 4 times and I just get dumped into someone's voicemail box with a promise they will get back to me. I'm going to try one more time today but…

Electrolux Sanitaire Heavy-Duty Commercial Upright Vacuum, 17.5lbs, Chrome/Red
Today, I placed another Review for 'PicnicWorld' the vendor who shipped this Commercial Sanitaire upright.
* Our Rating is based on the fact that this particular model from Sanitaire, is for CARPET Floors Only! It doesn't perform very well on HARD WOOD FLOORS or on TILE Flooring. And I would say that's the ONLY reason it received only 4-Stars from us. But, I also have to say that it performs as well as our Oreck XL, except that unlike the Oreck, it doesn't clean Wood or tile flooring. It's Excellent on Carpet!
However, we have 'mixed Media', when it comes to flooring, with carpet, tile, marble & wood flooring!
* One other thing to note, which is a plus is that this particular model,
the SC888G Commercial, is for People that have Allergies and it uses a
very IMPRESSIVE thick Allergy special bag(s).
* I agree mostly with the Manufactures Description & the other Reviewers.
* It did arrive well-packed by the vendor & it was a snap to put together,
with very good visual instructions.
* We also have an 'in-house' Policy, to ALWAYS keep all packing for all of the merchandise that is ordered on-line, for a Minimum of 6-months, just in case something goes wrong.
* For Carpet Flooring - we Highly Recommend this Sanitaire Commercial Upright!

The EL7060 also provides superior cleaning power. Equipped with a 12 amp motor, the Deep Clean power head uses a high-suction motor for deep down removal of dirt, debris, and pet dander. With its direct suction system, this canister vacuum is able to hold up to 2 quarts of dust. It is recommended for all surfaces as it is able to pick up all kinds of dirt, be it bare floors or carpets. The 7 inch hose enables you to carry this compact vacuum around the house to cover greater cleaning area.
I bought the Ultra Silencer Deep Clean vacuum from Amazon because I didn't care for the green color Ultra Silencer from Lowes - wanted the silver/steel look model and found this one on Amazon. It's an extremely quiet vacuum, with excellent cleaning ability. I like the high quality attachments - and let's face it - if you buy a canister vacuum it's because you WANT to use the attachments, so the quality of the tools is important. The bare floor tool is extra wide, so it cleans a very large area of bare floor at one time. The bags hold a surprising amount of dirt - their size may seem small but they hold a very large amount of dirt before the indicator tells you to change the bag. Electrolux today isn't the same "Electrolux" our mother's used to buy from the door to door salesmen. Electrolux is now a part of Eureka. I guess it's their high end models. This machine is a great example of a vacuum that's worth the money. Everything snaps together easily, the power nozzle has a lifetime belt, and the machine will tell you when to change filters and bags. What's not to love?

An Electrolux bagless upright is designed for easy cleaning floor to ceiling. The hand turbo makes stair and upholstery cleaning quick and easy. It has 14-feet of reach. The stretch hose and quick release wand allow you to go from carpet to off-the-floor cleaning in an instant! This 12-amp motor provides a powerful, deep clean on carpets, upholstery and hard surfaces. The anti-odor hepa filtration captures 99.97-percent of pet dander, dust mites, pollen and mold, leaving air fresh.
I have deliberately waited 6 months after purchasing this vacuum to write a review. I wanted to give myself ample time to use this vacuum and become accustomed to it. I am a previous Electrolux owner, so I thought I was going to be pleased and familiar with this product. I can tell you unequivocably that this vacuum is a HUGE disappointment. The product reviews I read at the time of my purchase were entirely different from my experiences with "it". The vacuum does have very good.suction, WHEN IT IS WORKING. The beater bar, hose, debris reservoir, or filter gets clogged about every other use. Then you have to stick your hand up inside the nasty debris reservoir to pull out what ever thing clogged it up. The vacuum is veeeery heavy, I would not purchase if you have any kind of joint or muscle health issue ie. arthritis, fibromyalgia. Forget about using this monster on carpeted steps, it's difficult to even carry the thing much less actually vacuum with it on steps. There is an attachment for furniture but the suction is not strong enough to use on steps. Although the suction is very good, I have not managed to vacuum up anything bigger than the size of a nickle without the thing clogging up, then acting like it's going to over heat. And forget about vacuuming anything other than dust bunnies or small bits of paper or dirt debris. The thing just can't handle it, very bad design. The latest lovely event that happened all of a sudden is the hose has become unglued and pulls…
